Digi - Amanda's favorite outfit of 2007

I chuckled as I scrapped this photo. She wore this outfit so much that it almost fused to her body. Much to her chagrin (and my pleasure), she finally outgrew it. It's tucked away for Abigail to wear some time soon.

The fabulous Suggestion Box 1 Kit is quite versatile. I know this kit will be one I refer to quite a bit.

Ron took the kids this morning, leaving me some time to work on my own things. Made a huge difference in how I'm feeling now. Thanks, Ron.

Digi - Joy unconfined

Found a very cool quote today:

On with the dance! let joy be unconfined;
No sleep till morn, when Youth and Pleasure meet
To chase the glowing hours with flying feet.

~George Gordon, Lord Byron, Childe Harold's Pilgrimage

I think the first line goes perfectly with this layout:

Designer Lisa Habisreutinger's latest kit Suggestion Box 1 is chock full of great elements.

Tonight I feel a struggle... nurturing the children, having the house intact and in order, spending time with the husband, finishing work reports, finding a creative outlet - these things don't mesh well all the time. How do I not let any drop?

Expressions of love

Art Princess #1 has been in a whirlwind of creating. Valentine's Day just does that to her, apparently. :)

Love letters

Amanda breathlessly exclaimed, "Mom, I need you to tie the ribbons here, but pretend you didn't see the cards." Dutifully I tied the ribbons on the ornate envelopes, still wet with glitter glue. Then she scurried off for a few minutes, later emerging with these:

"Open it, open it!" Inside Amanda wrote:

We wondered aloud why shy wrote "love" twice, and she shrugged her shoulders. "It's because I have so much love for you, Mom. And for Daddy too."

Valentine boxes

Since Amanda hasn't seen her Bay Area cousins for a long time, we decided to make something special for them. We decorated cigar boxes from Michael's with a few licks of acrylic paint, stickers on the lid and inside, and used ModPodge to glue down decorative paper. Amanda did the lion's share of the work, and I did touch ups, sticker arrangement, and the lettering. They came out nicely! Amanda was happily covered in pink and blue paint.

Happy birthday, Abby Sophia Onomatopoeia

We were fortunate enough to spend time with our family in Seattle for a few days. Here are Abigail and cousin Brandon, about to blow out their candles at their joint birthday party:

And back home, Abigail and her pal Stephanie had a joint birthday party at church. Nice spread, eh? Koreans throw some grand first birthday parties - read more here. This was actually a pretty low key gathering.

Isn't Stephanie a doll?

Here are Abigail and Stephanie ready to reveal a bit about their futures in the Toljabee event:

Abby chose the string, signifying long life! Fun stuff.

How time flies. So glad you're on this journey with us, little one. We love you.

Digi - I look up to you

My husband is such a good father. Our children are totally smitten with him, and the whole world stops when he comes home from work. Call it hero worship. :) He is completely deserving.

This is the inaugural layout as a creative team member for Stacey Sansom, using her Going in Circles Kit:

Digi - I carry your heart with me

I love this poem by e.e. cummings:

i carry your heart with me

i carry your heart with me(i carry it in
my heart)i am never without it(anywhere
i go you go,my dear;and whatever is done
by only me is your doing,my darling)
i fear
no fate(for you are my fate,my sweet)i want
no world(for beautiful you are my world,my true)
and it's you are whatever a moon has always meant
and whatever a sun will always sing is you

here is the deepest secret nobody knows
(here is the root of the root and the bud of the bud
and the sky of the sky of a tree called life;which grows
higher than soul can hope or mind can hide)
and this is the wonder that's keeping the stars apart

i carry your heart(i carry it in my heart)

This poem is the inspiration for this layout of Amanda and me, back in 2004. I love you so much, Miss Panda:
